Canon EOS 2000D DSLR Camera Review

Want to take your first step in DSLR photography? The EOS 2000D is Canon’s latest primary- level model. It is also known as rebel T7 or replacing the similarly affordable EOS 1300D. The Canon EOS 2000D is seen as a perfect DSLR for novice photographers.

That’s why I started research on the device. In this article, you can read all about my searches, and hopefully, you have got the Canon EOS 2000D DSLR Review. So, have a seat full of relaxation taking a mug of coffee, and let’s scroll down to reveal the camera’s overall ideas.

Canon EOS 2000D DSLR Camera

The latest release of the eos 2000D Canon DSLR in the entry-level market and the update to the 1300D. It’s also is known as the Rebel T7, is one of the most popular entry-level DSLRs in the world. It is one of the best points and shoots under 500 which is easy to use, has good battery life, and a 24.1-megapixel CMOS sensor.

Design and features

Familiar features include a Digic 4+ processing engine and a 9-point AF system, as well as full HD quality video recording. The camera uses the same EF-S mount as Canon’s other entry-level DSLRs, allowing it to mount not only from Canon but also many third-party manufacturers.

There are some major new additions such as the 24.1 MP APS-C sensor that allows you to achieve a much better and more natural separation from the subject and background. The Canon has a smartphone connection convenient that can share images like Wi-Fi and NFC technology.

System type DSLR

The type of DSLR camera has an internal mirror that reflects light into an optical viewfinder. The light from a mirrorless camera goes directly to the sensor, and the image is electronically illuminated.

You have also got a single-lens translucent camera. It has a horizontal mirror that reflects most of the light. The detection is reflected in the autofocus image sensor.

Resolution 24.1

Effective resolution is measured in megapixels. A higher number is not always good, as it is the size of the sensor that determines how large these pixels are and how much light they can capture.

Sensor size APS-C

Most consumer DSLRs have a relatively small sensor size. The APS-C-sized sensors are 1/0.9 inches, while the four-thirds and micro-four-thirds sensors are smaller, 1/1.17 inches. In general, larger sensors give better results in low light.

Screen and viewfinder

Another traditional feature of 1300D is the optical viewfinder. It provides 95% coverage of the frame. Keep this in mind when composing your images, as the edges of your shots may be slightly cropped.

Some people are feeling comfortable with optical viewfinders. Both electronic and optical have their advantages and downsides.

For example, an optical viewfinder gives a bright, real-time view of what you’re seeing, minus logs, or sound in low light. If you do not switch to a live view of the screen, it may not show the changes you are making in real-time shots.

These days, we’ll take a high-resolution EVF on top of the optical units that leave bits outside the frame. However, the battery life benefits of optical viewfinders are much more affordable.

Similarly, the screen is similar to 1300D. It is a static, 3.0-inch, 920K-dot panel. Not being able to tilt or pronounce it is less useful for awkward angles and selfies but the viewing angle is reasonably good.

Video type

Movie mode 1080p Full HD.
Both 720p and 1080p are high definition recording resolutions, although 1080p or ‘full-HD’ tends to be more detailed and smoothest.

The 4K Ultra HD delivers four times more detail than eight million pixels compared to 1080 million pixels. To judge the overall rating, sharpness, smoothness of running subject and panning shots, and color accuracy for the video quality of the camera in different light conditions. We consider the
video quality by:

  • Low light video quality
  • Video sound quality
  • We judge the quality of the sound captured on the camera’s internal microphone.

Image quality

The overall rating is based on our assessment of the picture quality. We consider the quality sharpness, color accuracy, contrast of the camera in different light conditions, and different zoom ranges. And we are faced with the stability of the image, the focus, and the effectiveness of the identification. We also mention you:

  • Image resolution
  • Low light image quality
  • Effectiveness of face detection
  • The image is stable

Stability in movie mode:

Some DSLRs allow you to use the image stabilizer when recording a movie if the camera lens or body has a mechanical stabilizer.

Manual focus:

Useful when autofocus doesn’t work or focuses on the wrong thing. Manual focus is done using the lens ring.

Shutter speed priority

In this mode, choose the shutter speed you want to shoot as a photographer and let the camera decide how to choose the aperture to give a well-exposed shot.

Aperture priority

Aperture Preference is a setting for some cameras that are often abbreviated to A or AV (for aperture value) in a camera mode dial, allowing the user to choose a specific aperture value when the camera selects to match the shutter speed, ensuring proper exposure.

The highest manually selectable ISO-

Setting a higher ISO setting helps you achieve better light images without a flash. The noise increases though.

Shutter closed late

It takes time to take a picture on the camera after you press the button from the fully unpressed position (as opposed to the semi-pressed position which significantly reduces the shutter delay). The subject is close.

Overall Performance

You could say that the 2000D’s 9-point AF system has been around for some time. It really starts showing its age now.

Grouped around the center of the frame, the 9 points don’t give you the whole thing to work on. So you can probably spend most of your time concentrating and rebuilding if your subjects are somewhere outside the center.

In terms of performance, only the center point is of the more sensitive cross-type. You’ll want to associate this point with light point reduction. Otherwise, other focus points do a decent job of locking the subject in normal daylight.

You can enable the screen to shoot in live view, but since the 2000D dual pixel, CMOS doesn’t use AF. Don’t expect the focusing speed to be lightning-fast. Still, it’s a good alternative to static-life and macro-type things. Or you can use a tripod while shooting.

The battery life of the 2000D is rated at 500 shots. This is an area where DSLRs still have the upper hand of similarly priced and low-cost compact systems. Gives you enough juice for an average of at least two days of shooting.

Why buy the Canon EOS 2000D?

The Canon EOS 2000D is a great beginner camera that provides good image quality, exposure compensation, and easily accessible controls. The camera can record full HD video at 30 frames per second and has a 9-point autofocus system. It also got a built-in flash and an optical viewfinder.

If you are successful with the concept of a Canon DSLR and its larger lens, the 2000D is a model to consider. If budget constraints are your main concern, it would probably be a wise buy.

Easy to use

Available Scores of all tests including daily use and improved usage. We also test for shutter delay, focusing, flash performance, viewfinder, and monitor screen quality. These tests include:

  • Flash
  • Viewfinder
  • Quality monitoring
  • Focusing
  • Shutter late

Verdict

We try to assemble all features of the Canon EOS 2000D DSLR camera by researching from many sides. Canon always provides models that are easy to recommend when it comes to entry-level DSLRs.

Sure it’s a budget camera that delivers good results, but it’s not enough in this kind of competitive market. At the same price point, there are plenty of other mirrorless models and DSLRs that offer a higher price offer.

We recommend it, as a safer choice for newcomers, but a few older ones in the original case. Happy capturing and enjoy your day having such a decent camera.
